A bit of a slapstick topic, but it would be interesting to find out the general opinion of owlies, so does your owl love you or does your owl just depend on you?

I know my owl depends on me, hence the having to make the owl feel hunger to fly to me, however I have seen a barn owl that craves human attention, walk near the aviary and the owl is at the wire, let the owl out and it is like a missile, straight to the owner, with or without food.
At times, when my owl is fat, it will land on me and groom me, at times the owl doesn't mind being stroked, however a lot of the time the owl hates being touched, it won't foot you, but it will squeal and bite.

I don't think an owl loves but I do think it is possible to build up a strong bond.

Crumble now chooses no matter where in the room she starts, to jump, climb & flap to sit on the back of the sofa behind my head. If I'm sat on the floor she occasionally jumps on my shoulder and sits preening me.

Yesterday I popped over to my neighbours, when I looked back across at the house Crumble had walked from behind the sofa, across the windowsil & was sat watching me. I thought it was just coincidence but later I went out to get the pushchair out of the car and again she had jumped onto the windowsil to watch me. She was still there waiting for me when I got back from school with the children & jumped straight through the blinds to the back of the sofa as I walked through the door.

I love my owl, I know she is dependent on me but I'd like to think there is a little more to it.

to be honest i dont think jester gives a stuff as long as someone feeds him

he will only respond for food (or a good chance of it) when he is hungry otherwise he is barely interested in me at all

unless it is spring of course and he wants to get his end away
