Just wondering who has seen what owls in the wild. By wild owls I mean without equipment, without a keeper, but the wild owls do not have to be native to your country. So escaped captive bred owls can be counted.

When I lost my Barn owl, I drove miles and miles, in fact I started off in a three mile radius, then went out as far as five miles, I am no good at maths, but a five mile radius is one heck of a lot of miles.
I saw so many barn owls, I lost count. Now, it is widely believed that Barn owls take a three mile territory, I can prove that wrong. In 1 mile radius I saw three pairs of Barn owls.
I also went to a barn owl breeder who had 21 barn owls in one huge aviary, another Barn Owl breeder has 6 barn owls in one aviary.
In the three mile radius I counted no less than 6 pairs of Barn Owls.
I have also seen 1 Tawny owl.

Hearing owls does not count, but I hear Tawny owls calling to each other almost every night.

I've seen quite a few Barn Owls during the day & at night & 1 Tawny Owl (just a few months ago)

I also used to keep 4 Barn owls in an aviary together (1 male 3 females).
